Associate, Programs

Citymeals on Wheels provides a continuous lifeline of nourishing meals and connection for homebound older New Yorkers. Since our founding, we have delivered over 70 million meals. Together, we are working to end elder hunger in New York City by 2040.

Citymeals on Wheels is currently seeking an Associate, Programs who will support the Director, Programs in administrative duties to help support the oversight and management of the partner providers.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about Citymeals’ mission and will participate in various aspects of the organization (i.e., attending meal deliveries, visiting the Distribution Center in The Bronx).

Citymeals is working on a hybrid schedule. This position will require three days a week at our office in Midtown Manhattan. Days and hours may vary due to business needs. Evenings, weekends and holidays may be required to support fundraising and/ or partnership events.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct annual site visits to contracted home-delivered meal (HDM) providers & prepare reports.
  • Maintain up-to-date contact information for contracted meal programs and partner organizations.
  • Represent Citymeals at Older Adult Center (OAC) and partner events, ensuring accurate co-branding and organizational presence.
  • Participate in community health fairs; prepare and distribute Citymeals resources.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Volunteer team to orient new volunteers on the meal delivery process.
  • Participate in occasional weekend volunteer engagement activities and events.
  • Respond to and triage incoming calls, voicemails, and emails to the Programs Department, including those related to meal assistance, donation inquiries, partnership requests, and other program matters.
  • Provide support for client outreach and engagement initiatives related to program evaluation, as needed.
  • Support the Programs Department with general administrative tasks, including document preparation, database updates, scheduling, and internal coordination to ensure smooth team operations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of professional experience at a non-profit.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all tasks/deliverables.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Strong customer service and relationship building skills. Experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS office suite. Experience with Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or similar CRM a plus.
  • Energetic, creative and organized team player with experience coordinating and prioritizing multiple projects within a deadline-driven environment.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000, plus an annual discretionary bonus based on organizational and individual success.
