Job Description

Who We Are:

Nutter and Associates, Inc. is a growing, 40-year-old environmental consulting firm specializing in hydrology, water quality, ecology, geology, soils, and other natural resource disciplines. We provide the expertise and science used by our clients in support of environmental permits and compliance, land management planning and decision making, and litigation. Our clients vary and include those from industrial, engineering, federal, state, municipal, legal, and private sectors. We have over 30 employees including part timers, and our main office is in Athens, Georgia, with a satellite office located in Asheville, North Carolina. The selected candidate for this position will be expected to work full time, in our Athens office.

Job Description: 

This position manages finance, human resources, administrative and legal matters, including but not limited to:

  • Financial: manages cash flow, accounts payable and receivable, capital expenditures, prepares monthly financial statements for management and CPA, assists CPA with annual corporate taxes, administers payroll including taxes and reporting, and provides analysis for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Human Resources: makes policy and practice recommendations to Business Administration Leader, designs benefit plan recommendations and implements plans, assists with employee issues, and new hire setup and onboarding.
  • Legal: review and/or works closely with corporate legal counsel to facilitate non-standard and subcontractor contracts, and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Operations: assists leadership with various ad hoc tasks, as needed.
  • Management: manages Office Manager position including mentorship and performance evaluation.

Core Requirements:

  • Business related four-year college degree required.
  • 8+ years progressive business management experience required, small business experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite software and general accounting software; must be adept at learning new technologies.

Compensation:

  • Commensurate with experience and which currently includes a comprehensive benefits package including up to a 5% dollar for dollar 401(k) match, PTO, holiday pay, company paid medical healthcare, short and long-term disability, life insurance, and optional dental, vision, and flexible spending account.
