Full Stack Engineer – NextGen Coding Company

Location: USA-Based (Remote, EST hours; NYC preferred)

Compensation: $50 / hr

Schedule: Full-Time

NextGen Coding Company is hiring a Full Stack Engineer with strong backend depth and production-grade experience in Python, Django, and PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will develop data-heavy systems, manage ingestion pipelines, and troubleshoot distributed flows across multiple services. Accuracy, reliability, and ownership are essential due to the complexity and sensitivity of client workloads.

Role Overview

The Full Stack Engineer will work across backend services, front-end integrations, cloud environments, and data pipelines. The position requires an engineer who can deliver stable systems, improve performance, and handle debugging across multi-service deployments. A strong understanding of data workflows, API-driven architecture, and cloud operations is important.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain full-stack applications using Python, Django, and modern web frameworks.
• Manage relational data modeling, indexing, and SQL optimization for PostgreSQL.
• Develop and maintain data ingestion workflows involving CSV parsing, validation logic, and downstream transformations.
• Implement file ingestion systems using SFTP, S3, background workers, and webhook-driven flows.
• Debug production failures by tracing logs across Django services, AWS Lambda functions, webhook handlers, and S3 flows.
• Support environment-specific workflows across staging and production deployments.
• Improve scalability, reliability, and performance across backend and data systems.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver stable, accurate, and timely features.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python and Django in production environments.
• Solid mastery of PostgreSQL including schema design, indexing, and query tuning.
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ingestion systems.
• Familiarity with cloud tooling (AWS preferred) and distributed file storage workflows.
• Ability to debug multi-service interactions through logs and tracing.
• Experience with S3, SFTP, background jobs, or queue systems.
• Exposure to API design and modern full-stack patterns.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a U.S. remote environment.
