Location: Fairfax, VA

MEG is a leading provider of Information Management system engineering, software development, information assurance, system sustainment and is the primary provider of technical support for the Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS) Enterprise. IBS is the worldwide Department of Defense (DoD) joint program for transporting intelligence, surveillance & reconnaissance (ISR) and targeting data to all levels of tactical and strategic operational users.

IBS provides global, 24/7, dissemination of time sensitive Indications & Warning and Force Protection data to Joint Warfighters and Collaborating Nation partners conducting military operations around the world. MEG serves a vital role in supporting the IBS Enterprise, providing continuity in skills crucial to support military operations. MEG integrates the talents and skills of team members to form an IBS Enterprise Support Services Team to provide world-class IBS customer support.

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our organization's LAN/WAN pathways, monitoring network performance, and ensuring the security and efficiency of our network infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of network management tools, security standards, and various transmission methods to support and enhance our network systems.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience performing network engineering, network administration 6+ years in a DOD environment

• Cisco CCNA certification and architecture experience required

• Must comply with 8140 DCWF 451 certification requirements. Current Security+ and/or advanced certifications are required

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear feedback on network infrastructure and requirements.

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in network management and performance monitoring.

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.

• Proficient in analyzing and implementing DISA STIGs for network components

• Ensure compliance with established systems administration procedures.

• Must comply with 8140 DCWF 451 certification requirements. Current Security+ and/or advanced certifications are required

• Active TS/SCI Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

• Operate and maintain the organization's LAN/WAN pathways, ensuring optimal performance and availability.

• Monitor system performance indicators and traffic flows across the network to identify and resolve issues promptly.

• Utilize network management tools (e.g., ACAS Scanning Infrastructure, SNMP) to analyze network traffic patterns and conduct control system network analysis.

• Ensure that security patches for commercial products are applied in accordance with management timelines and operational requirements.

• Integrate new systems into the existing network architecture while adhering to design and quality standards.

• Develop and implement new system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.

• Able to configure CISCO infrastructure in accordance with RMF and NIST SP 800-53 requirements

• Provide feedback on network requirements, including architecture and infrastructure improvements.

• Understand and manage various transmission methods and jamming techniques that affect network operation.

• Create and update network infrastructure documentation using VISIO.
