Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Crisis to lead high-profile client engagements and agency initiatives across the professional services landscape. The ideal candidate is a trusted communications advisor with deep expertise in corporate positioning, executive visibility, media strategy, and crisis and issues management. This leader will be instrumental in driving impactful results for our clients while mentoring a high-performing team and contributing to agency growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Leadership: Serve as senior counsel to C-suite executives and in-house comms teams at professional services firms (tech, insurance, real estate, law, fintech, etc.).
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and oversee comprehensive corporate communications strategies that enhance reputation, increase visibility, and support business objectives.
  • Crisis & Issues Management: Lead rapid-response initiatives, prepare clients for media scrutiny, and craft messaging for high-stakes scenarios such as litigation, executive transitions, data breaches, regulatory challenges, and activist pressure.
  • Media Relations: Cultivate top-tier national and trade media relationships to secure high-impact placements and manage media inquiries.
  • Team Development: Mentor and manage cross-functional teams, fostering professional growth and ensuring top-notch client service.
  • Thought Leadership & Content: Guide the development of executive messaging, op-eds, speeches, and internal communications aligned with client goals.
  • New Business: Support agency growth through proposal development, pitch participation, and organic growth within existing accounts.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs, or PR agency leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise across professional services sectors (e.g., tech, insurance, real estate, legal, financial services, fintech).
  • Proven track record in crisis communications, media strategy, and corporate reputation management.
  • Strong relationships with national business, finance, and trade media.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive presence.
  • Strategic, calm under pressure, and solutions-oriented.
  • Experience managing large accounts and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field (advanced degree a plus).
